2009 Annual Meeting

On October 22, 2009, the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida held their 2009 Annual Meeting at the Marriott Jacksonville at Southpoint. Over 200 of the region’s business, health care and human service leaders came together to listen to keynote speaker Dr. Laura McCrary, Executive Director of the Kansas City Regional Health Care Initiative. Dr. McCrary provided an insightful overview on Kansas City’s efforts to create a comprehensive care coordination strategy for residents crossing Kansas and Missouri state lines and respective counties to access healthcare and other human services. Dr. McCrary urged audience members to come together as a region and insist on collaborative and coordinated efforts among all organizations to address health care access, health disparities, and behavior health efforts.
