New Town Health Project Phase 3 Now Available on YouTube

Baptist Health, the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, and the New Town Success Zone welcomed over 25 community residents, church members and sorority members to the New Town Health Project Health Builders! Training this past Saturday. Held at S.P. Livingston Elementary School, Health Builders! learned the basics of conducting focus groups and porch to porch surveys. This training was required for all Health Builders! before they begin gathering community level data regarding healthcare barriers and access issues in the New Town Success Zone community. New Town, as many would describe it, is “ground zero” for health disparities, crime, infant mortality, ER over utilization, significant high school drop out rates, etc… We are hopeful that this ground-breaking community level assessment project will help us uncover information that is not captured in county level assessments. The New Town Health Project was launched in November 2009. We have been video taping the entire process (with consent of course) and posting each phase on YouTube to keep our funders and partners engaged.
