Regional Analytics using InstantAtlas
The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida is proud to introduce an easy to use interactive mapping tool for health analysts, grant writers, researchers, statisticians, epidemiologists, data managers and GIS experts to disseminate and compare health indicators and healthcare utilization statistics. InstantAtlas outputs, termed ‘dynamic reports’, are commonly produced to complement static reports to give readers the opportunity to explore the data behind the reports for themselves. Community Snapshot Indicators using InstantAtlas
Modeling one of our Core Values: We believe collaboration is a must at any cost, the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida saw an opportunity to connect JCCI’s existing Statewide Community Snapshot Indicators via InstantAtlas with our rich Regional Healthcare Analytics to enhance the interactive mapping experience.
Florida Medical Facilities Utilization Reporting System
Our sister organization, Broward Regional Health Planning Council, Inc. developed the Florida Prevention Quality Indicators (PQI) Profile for all Florida counties. The profile examines hospitalizations occurring between 2004 and 2008 that may have been preventable with the utilization of high quality primary and preventive care. Prevention of these hospitalizations requires effective clinician diagnosis and treatment as well as patients actively participating in their care and adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Health policy and planning administrators may utilize this profile to establish benchmarks and to identify target areas for quality improvement. Results are based on the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) database and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Prevention Quality Indicators (PQIs). All data presented in this profile are adjusted for the age and gender distribution of the population.
This initiative was funded through grants from the Health Foundation of South Florida, a not-for-profit grant making organization, and the Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida, the philanthropic affiliate of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
BRHPC developed a web-based data warehouse and analytic engine which includes the following query module functions: Prevention Quality Indicators/Avoidable Admission, Chronic Conditions (ICD-9), Suicide Incidence, ED Acuity Stratification (CPT) and NYU Algorithm ED Preventable/Avoidable can also be generated.
Healthcare Utilization Subscription Services
The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida is the repository of healthcare and health status data for Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia counties. We offer healthcare utilization subscription services to more than 250 subscribers who receive our healthcare utilization reports monthly, quarterly and semi-annually. We also generate customized utilization reports on request.
